3. Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association (LEFASO VN) is a social economic affiliated and voluntary organisation represeting manufacturers, traders, technical and science researchers and services suppliers engaged in the industry from all sectors of the economy those are operating in Vietnam. The Association is established and run on the principles of voluntary, equality and mutual benefits among the members.

4. The Association has its own logo, stamp and account. Working regulation of the Association has been approved by the Minister of Industry.

5. Targets of the Association are to conduct economic affiliated activities, designate and coordinate in action among the members relating to manufacture, exportation, importation, material supply, product consumption, etc... in the leather and footwear business, aimed at taking fullest account of the existing potential, improving product quality and social - economic effects to the member enterprises, in the meantime, increasing competitive edge in export markets and representing a voice for the member's interests.

6. Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association has become an official member of the Asian International Footwear Association since 1996. The Association plays a key role in promoting international cooperation, providing technical - technological and training support and giving related information.

7. Organization of the Association: The Executive Committee includes 16 members representing all economic sectors involved in the industry throughout the country. The Permanent Committee consists of 7 members: Chairman, 05 Vice Chairman and General Secretary. Secretarial group managed by the General Secretary, help the Executive and Permanent Committee. The Association is now having 90 members and new members are continuing to join the Association (see the attached sheet).

8. Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association looks forward to having cooperation with all organisation and companies at home and abroad on the different areas of the industry.
