We give employment opportunities to the Village Ladies. A portion of our profit goes to the Development of Auroville. Ours is more of a Service Oriented Unit. We are having about 40 ladies participating in the production of Fringes Bags, Crochet Shoes, Beaded Bags, Beaded Anklets, and any kind of Hand Made Items as per the Sample given to us. PRODUCT PROFILE

HANDICRAFT ITEMS ONLY

CROCHET SHOES:

Materials Used : Rubber, Canvas , Rayon Silk Yarn, Elastic 

Size : American Standard Size 5 to 10 

Bottom of the Shoe is made of quality Rubber. Quality Rexene is pasted on the rubber for foot rest. Sides and upper portion is knitted with Rayon Silk Yarn of required colours and designs. Elastic lace is used around the top open for grip. Close to the top open, in front side, beautiful flower/design work is knitted.

TURKEY CROCHET SHOES : Pointed Front Edge; Weighs 300 gms. per pair

MOCCASIN CROCHET SHOES : Circled Front Edge; Weighs 350 gms. per pair

SUEDE MOCCASIN CROCHET SHOES: Soft suede leather having a flower/design decoration of beads in the center is pasted on the Calf leather is jointed in front portion of the knitted work. Each pair weighs 350 gms.

Children Crochet Shoes of size 1 to 4 of the above pattern are also available which weighs about 150 gms per pair.

Shape : Rectangular with 'V' Shaped Bottom

Size of ‘V‘ Shape : 4.5" X 4.5"

Length of the Beads work Hanging Underneath the ‘V‘ Shape : 3.75” Length of the Handle to hang over the Shoulders : 1.75’ Fringes bags are made of soft suede leather and are of rectangular in size with ‘V‘ Shaped bottom. Underneath the bottom, straight rows of beads work is hanging. Finishing of the edges around the bag is done with the beads work. Adjacent side joints are also having the beads finishing work. In the center of the front side of the bag, a circle of 1” radius is decorated with beads work of flower/ Butterfly/ lizard shaped/required designs. Small closing for the mouth comes from the back side of the bag upto the top of the circle decoration. A thin handle is braided of the same colored soft suede leather and attached at the two top corners of the bag. Each Bag Weighs 90 gms. Colors available in the bags are: Cream, Red Shades, Blue Shades, Tan, Light Brown, Black, Green Shades, Dark Pink, Purple etc.,

Small size 2.5” X 3.5” Fringes bags without flop are also available with the same above pattern. Each small Bag weighs 40 gms.

Fringes Bag of rectangular shape of 7” x 6” size with a Lizard shape beads design in the center are also available Any size with required pattern can be made if sample is given.
