SHOE / SUMMER 2003

Shoe / Summer 2003, the 13th Izmir Shoes, Bags and Accessories Fair, which was organised by Izmir Fair, ended with a satisfactory and pleasant efficiency for both the exhibitors and the visitors. During the Shoe / Summer 2003 Fair, held between 06 - 09 March, 191 domestic and foreign companies exhibited their new designs and products.

The Fair was open only to the trade visitors and the stands of the exhibitor companies attracted attention of the visitors a lot. The Fair, which was arranged on a total space of 6,402 sqm within 6 halls and in which spring-summer designs of 2003 were exhibited, was visited by totally 7400 people from 25 countries. These countries are Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Egypt, Finland, Germany, Greece, Holland, Iran, Israel, Italy, Libya, Romania, Russia, Serbia and Montenegro, South Africa, South Korea, Syria, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, United Kingdom, and USA.

The companies from Germany, Italy, Spain, Iran and Syria participated in the fair. During the Fair, seminars on "Product Certification and Quality Management System" and "Brand-making and Patent" were held. In addition, fashion shows also drew a lot of attention, during which latest shoe designs of 12 companies were presented by famous models. Besides these, young talented people were supported with the prizes they were given at the 4th Authentic Shoes Design Competition, to be held in cooperation with Dokuz Eylül University - Faculty of Fine Arts - Department of Fashion and Textile Designing.

Dilara Sürgü Ersözlü, the General Manager of Izmir Fair, analysed the Shoe / Summer 2003 and said:

"The Shoe / Summer 2003, the first Fair of the year, has been quite successful for the exhibitors and the visitors. According to us, the Shoe / Summer 2003, which Izmir Fair aims to make it an international one just like the Marble Fair, did become successful for both the exhibitors and the visitors. Right after this successful organisation, we have already started our preparations for the Shoe / Winter 2003 Fair. We believe that Izmir Shoes Fair will be one of the noteworthy fairs of the world as of 2004. We thank a lot all the supportive corporations, establishments and sector representatives, and wish more successful fairs with their never-ending cooperation."
