The meeting began with a review of the Spring Summer 2004 season. A few more fresh colours such as Apple Green, Lilac & Orange have been added to the Spring Summer 2004 palette.
The President of MODEUROP, Mr. Herman Hoste, discussed the business trends in Europe. He classified the shoe business in Europe as under:
| Good markets: |
England, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg |
| Level markets: |
Austria, France |
| Slow markets: |
Germany, Italy |
He hoped that the situation may improve by 2006.
Shoes to the customer are not so important now. Moreover, cheap flip-flops have suddenly become a major trend among the youth.
Following the Presidential address, the fashion experts made presentations on the colour stories, textures and surfaces.
The Indian presentation was called "Incredible
India."
The MODEUROP Colours for Autumn Winter 2004-05 are presented in three colour groups:
|
PERSONALITY
"The absolutes" - from neutral shades of white and grey and silver and chrome variations to cool anthracite and
black.
Shine is important here. Metallic finishes are very important - both high gloss and faded metallics, which continue that certain "used look" in a very sophisticated
manner.
Matt, classic effects are deliberately sought as a contrast. |
TRADITION
A mixture of culture, lyricism and the classic look. In addition to brownish-green tones, warm autumn tones, in particular burnt-orange shades, create harmonious
unity.
The materials here are plush and warm, fluffy and
soft: Velour and Nubuck, soft Napa, doubleface and imaginative embossed materials fit into this category. |
MODERNITY
These are the intense, dynamic colours of the pop
era: Bright red, sharp orange, hot pink, oriental turquoise and, of course, black and
white.
Contrasts are in fashion. This also applies to the materials - from synthetics to high-quality natural
materials.
Plastic finishes are found next to brushed wool, lacquered finishes next to velour. |
333 Leathers/ Colours developed by 17 Tanners were showcased from India at this
Roundtable.
The MODEUROP Colour Card for Autumn Winter 2004-05 season features a total of 16 colours for Shoes & a total of 9 colours for Garments.
All the 16 colours selected as MODEUROP in the Shoes category and all the 9 colours selected as MODEUROP in the Garments category, feature from INDIA !
