The All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE) is well known to the international leather industry and trade press. At the same time the inaugural edition of the China International Footwear Fair (CIFF) will take place and it will incorporate an established fashion event, Moda Shanghai.
All three will be held from 3 to 5 September 2003, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre
(SNIEC), Pudong, Shanghai.
In mid-June the Shanghai Government lifted self-imposed restrictions on holding conferences and exhibitions in the city which had been implemented to limit the spread of SARS. Shanghai is holding its Shanghai Pudong World Carnival at the end of June followed by the 2003 International Sourcing Conference in July. The 2003 Forbes Global CEO conference will be held in Shanghai from September 16 to 18 with some 350 CEOs expected to attend.
"We are confident that ACLE, CIFF and Moda Shanghai will be well-attended in this revitalised and optimistic atmosphere."
said Ms Grace Lee
Assistant Exhibition Sales Manager, APLF Limited
ACLE will focus on raw materials for the product manufacturing industries - hides and skins, semi-processed and fully finished leathers, tanning machinery, process chemicals, product components and accessories.
Bookings for ACLE 2003 have been very healthy in spite of the SARS outbreak. Confirmed pavilions include Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, India, Italy, Korea, Pakistan, Spain, Taiwan and USA. The Korean Tanners Association and the US Hide Skin and Leather Association (USHSLA) have increased the size of their pavilions.
Established now for six years, ACLE remains the meeting point of choice in China for the international leather industry. As well as showcasing China's own leather industry, it brings to China a large number of the world's most reputable suppliers. In September 2003 they should enjoy brisk business as local demand for raw materials and supplies is at a high level.
Complementing ACLE will be the new China International Footwear Fair (CIFF). The show will house exhibitors from China as well as other footwear manufacturing countries and regions. International buyers will source not only mass market wares but also footwear in the medium to high markets at different prices.
Moda Shanghai has been re-conceptualised to offer a wide spectrum of finished goods such as leather garments, handbags, travel goods and fashion accessories at different price ranges. CIFF and Moda Shanghai will welcome exhibitors from mainland China, Hong Kong, Germany, India, Malaysia and Switzerland.
Seminar programmes will take place during ACLE, CIFF and Moda Shanghai which are the ideal venues for disseminating valuable information to the industry. Seminars will cover leather assessment and utilisation for tanners and shoemakers by
SATRA, the problem of raw hide preservation and a low-cost solution by Bangladesh Leather and the topic on how "clean technology" can help international sales presented by BLC Leather Technology Centre.
Two presentations by the expert in fashion, Peclers PARIS StyleCENTRAL Ltd forecasting on "Colours, Materials, Trends and Influences of Autumn/Winter 04-05", and "Women's Fashion Trends of Spring/Summer 2004" will be arranged. CIFF and Moda Shanghai will also feature catwalk fashion shows.
